With support from Innovative Farmers , the East Anglian Grain Alliance is hosting a Learning Network event at Duchess Farm in Hertfordshire. Join grain specialist Andrew Forbes for a walk around the farm and mill and here about his work identifing, growing and testing wheat varieties potentially suited to UK conditions and with good milling and baking qualities. Andrew will describe the process of:

• Seed research/discovery

• Seed sourcing

• Plot scale viability screening, multiplication and limited milling and baking trials

• Field scale plots – wider milling and baking trials (which we’ll see on the day)

• Commercial production – seed made available to farmers , grain/flour sold into bakeries which to a certain extent we’ll see on the day
